Randall “Randy” Turrentine

d. July 11, 2020

Randall "Randy" Turrentine went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2020 in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas. On June 11, 1955 Randy was born to Owen and Mary Turrentine. Both parents preceded him in passing, as well as his two sisters Linda and Debbie. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Arlene Turrentine, his daughter, Annette, and siblings Sandy, David, and Gregg.

Randy served in the U.S Navy and was eventually honorably discharged. Among other things, Randy loved cooking food from scratch and creating beautiful works of art. His primary medium was ink on paper, and he prided himself in his ability to work free-hand instead of using tools or straight-edges. He made the world's best alfredo sauce and wished to someday have his own pasta sheeter.

The family cat also preceded him many years in passing, but he found some level of comfort from the cat sitting nearby him. They would watch old western films and television shows even if the cat fell asleep. One of the small annoyances for him were whenever there was snow or images of cold things on the television. When asked why he would simply say, "It looks real cold, and now I feel cold."

Randy always discussed the importance of math, especially trigonometry, in the world. He was a lot smarter than most people gave him credit for. He knew it was important to show people respect and common courtesy and taught his family these values.

65 years young, as the family would say, was the age of passing. Although he was plagued with many health issues, he found comfort in knowing that there were still people around that cared for him. And that, certainly, is important indeed.
