Rae Pierce Hawks Palmer

Rae Pierce Hawks Palmer was born on January 7, 1942, accompanied by her twin sister, Faye Pierce Janes, in Strong City, KS. Their parents were Lester and Aileen Pierce and they had two brothers, John Layman Pierce, (deceased) and Lester Charles "Chuck" Pierce II.

After graduating high school in Strong City, Rae and Faye moved to Topeka and found jobs there. In 1965, Rae married Richard Hawks, and two daughters were born of this marriage: Richelle Hawks (Steve Wagner) of Little Falls, NY and Melanie Faye Hawks of Salt Lake City, UT. Rae's grandson, Tierney L. Cyren, resides in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2002, Rae married Arthur Palmer. His children are Audri (Gene) May, Stacy (William) Beckett, and John Palmer, (deceased). The Palmer family includes six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rae worked for Dr. Michael Laccheo in Topeka for 25 years before her retirement.

She passed away on Monday, January 30, 2024. Per her request, there will be no services. Her remains will be buried in the cemetery in Elmdale, KS.
