Pauline W. Pruyser

Pauline W. Pruyser, Topeka, died on December 1, 2022. She was born in Boston MA on June 18, 1950 to Paul W. and Jansje M. Pruyser. In 1954 her family moved to Topeka. She attended Topeka schools and graduated from Topeka High School in 1968. Following her graduation from THS, she attended Tarkio College and Kansas University. She returned to school at Washburn University and graduated in 1985 with a BSN. She worked as a registered nurse at Topeka State Hospital and Colmery-O'Neil VA, as well as residential facilities for persons with mental illness.

Pauline loved to travel and was able to pursue this passion. She was a voracious reader. She had close friends who meant so very much to her.

Pauline is survived by her sister, Henriette Area (Robert) of Mayetta KS and her brother, Herman Pruyser (Jamie) of Del Norte CO. Additionally, there are six nephews and one niece who remember her and five step nieces and nephews. Her beloved cat, Spuds, whom she rescued in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, survives and will be tended by family.

As planned by Pauline, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held later. Memorial contributions made be made to Kansas Public Radio, care of Midwest Cremation, Inc., 525 SE 37th Street, Topeka, KS 66605.
