Paul M. MacDonald was born on July 21, 1946 in Portland, ME to Maurice and Rosalie MacDonald. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. During his military service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon. After retiring from the military with 20 years of service, Paul continued to serve his country as a civil servant, subsequently retiring from this position in 2010. Paul passed away on July 19, 2016 in Manhattan, KS in the company of his family. He is survived by his wife Chieko Jeffries-MacDonald of Junction City, KS, his daughter Sun-ni So and her husband Jerry of Chino Hills, CA, his son Bill Jeffries and his wife Kerrie of Junction City, KS, his grandchildren Anthony, Samuel, Kellan and Kiera, his sisters Leona Noel of San Antonio, TX and Maureen Fenton of Front Royal, VA, many nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved Maddie. Graveside services will be held at The Kansas Veteran's Cemetery (5181 Wildcat Creek Rd., Manhattan, KS) on Thursday, July 28th at 10:00 A.M. There will be a reception to follow at Whiskey Business (1719 N. Franklin, Junction City, KS) from 1:00-4:00 P.M.
