Patricia S. Palmer

March 15, 1944 — November 28, 2025

Patricia S. Palmer passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at her home in Topeka, Kansas with her husband, Donald, nearby.

She was born on March 15, 1944 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, the daughter of George Robert (G.R.) and Hazel (Bowman) Blose. After graduating from Mount Gilead High School, Pat married Donald G. Palmer on June 21, 1963. Don was enlisted in the army at that time and stationed at Ft. Riley, KS, so they began their married life living in Manhattan, KS. When Don left the military, they stayed in Kansas eventually ending up in Topeka where they raised their family.

Pat spent many years working part time and taking care of her family. She retired from work after several years of managing the box office at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka. Throughout their life together, Pat and Don enjoyed treasure hunting at estate sales, Caribbean beaches and spending time with family.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, G.R. and Hazel Blose, her sister, Pamela Blose of Phoenix, AZ, a sister-in-law, Sharon Blose (Dennis) of Columbus, OH, and a son, Christopher Thomas Palmer.

In addition to her husband, Don, Pat is survived by her brothers Charles Blose (Vicki) of Delray Beach, FL and Dennis Blose of Columbus, OH, her children Torrey Lumpe (Andrew) of Raleigh, NC, Thomas Palmer (Michele) of Olathe, KS and Donald Palmer Jr. (Shawna) of Topeka, KS, her twelve grandchildren, Aaron Lumpe (Michelle), Signe Palmer, Stephen Lumpe (Vy), Severin Palmer, Jonathan Lumpe, Jacob Palmer, Sarah Lumpe, Emma Palmer, Caden Palmer, Colby Palmer, Caleb Palmer, Lilly Palmer, and several great-grandchildren.

Pat lived her life with faith in her Lord Jesus so that even though we greatly miss her presence here with us on earth, we are not without hope that we will see her again. As 2 Corinthians 5 reminds us, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Cremation is planned, and the family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
