Orlyn "Ken" Kenneth Johnson

Orlyn Kenneth "Ken" Johnson, 84, of Emporia, KS, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS.

Ken was born February 13, 1939, in Emporia, the son of Orlyn Warner and Juanita (Cooley) Johnson.

He was a 1957 graduate of Emporia High School and attended KSTC which is now Emporia State University. Ken worked at Temp & Co Auto Parts retiring after 42 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, hunting, attending craft shows selling woven rugs, listening to Blue Grass music and woodworking.

Ken married Marilyn L. Eaton on December 29, 1962, in Kansas City, KS. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2019. He is survived by three sons, Charles David (Janet) Laird of Emporia, James R. (Sandy) Laird of Allen, KS, Ralph E. (Gail) Johnson of Olpe, and a brother Gary (Marion) Johnson of Olpe. Three grandchildren, Travis (Jennifer) Laird of Cottonwood Falls, Terra Laird of Overland Park and Jacob Brotbeck of Lawrence also survive.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
