Orlan Wayne McCollam, 80 of Emporia passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his home. He was born January 23, 1936 on a farm near Kincaid, KS. Son of Clarence "Toots" and Velma McCollam. Orlan served in the Korean War in the United States Army. He was Co-Owner of IMP Boats for years in Lola, Kansas. He worked in the accounting field for several Emporia businesses before retiring. Wayne was an avid KC Chiefs fan, quail hunter, and fisherman. He was known for his lighthearted nature and not beyond a few pranks and off color jokes whether you had time or not.
He married Rena Esch on November 16, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas. Daughter of Lorenzo E and Eurith Esch. Rena was born January 9, 1933. She held many office positions in her life and enjoyed being a home maker and was a fantastic cook.
They are survived by their children, Kyle McCollam (Angie) of Topeka, Dena McCollam of Wichita; and a grandson Kevin McCollam of Pittsburg, Kansas. Rena is survived by a twin sister Rheta Isbell of Ottawa, Kansas.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, an infant brother Dewey, and an infant granddaughter Brenna McCollam. Rena was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Deloris Bartholomew, and an infant granddaughter Brenna McCollam.
A special thanks to Denise Lieurance and sons Nick and Ryan who helped provide additional love and care for them in their final months and were a very special part of their lives.
At their request, their remains were cremated and no services were held. Private burial for both Wayne and Rena will be held with family at a later date.
