Norma passed away on Monday June 2, 2014 at Stormont Vail ER.

Norma was born on October 26, 1939 in Napta, Missouri to R. Milton & Thelma Cochran.

She graduated from Raytown High School in 1957.

She received her BS in Nursing from Central Missouri State University in 1963 and her Masters in Nursing from Kansas University in 1979.

She wed Ralph Holbrook on June 30, 1961.

She was a lifelong educator having taught at Metropolitan Junior College, Washburn University and St. Francis hospital.

She is survived by her husband Ralph, daughters Tami Duvall (Bob) and Jennifer Shipman (David), and a granddaughter Nia.

She was predeceased by her parents R. Milton & Thelma Cochran and her brother Wendell.

At her request there will be no services. A Celebration of Life may be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to her favorite charity, The Topeka Shawnee County Library. Donations may be sent to The Library Foundation, 1515 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604-1374.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
