Nora Inez Gibbs, 79,of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 11th, 2018. Nora was born March 3rd, 1938 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Genevieve (Hawkins) Vaughn. Nora passed away as a dedicated born again Christian and faithful Jehovah's Witness. Nora was baptism March 6th, 1977.She was a member of the Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Nora was educated in Topeka public schools and was employed by USD 501 schools prior to retiring.
Nora married John E. Gibbs. She was proceeded in death by John, as well as her parents, twin sisters, Zelma (Vaughn) Grubbs, Velma (Vaughn) Tolson, Shirley (Vaughn) Matthews and a brother Lewis L. Vaughn. Survivors include her sons, Perry Dean Miller and Jon Anthony Gibbs, two grandsons and many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Nora was one of the most humble and sweet individuals you could even meet. Some of her favorite things were barbecue ribs, chocolate cake, root beer floats, and anything blueberry. She liked the ocean and 🐚 seashells. Her favorite sea creatures were starfish, seahorses and dolphins 🐬. Nora liked feather friends to and her favorites were hummingbirds, swans, cardinals and a cockatiel she once cared for. Her favorite color was teal and of course she loved puppy 🐶 dog's. Nora liked watching NFL and college football. She enjoyed playing checkers particularly with her grandson's. She liked jazz and R&B music but mostly she enjoyed listening to Kingdom Melodies. Any time spent with her relatives and friends she cherished. And she loved reading her Bible daily. Nora also loved being out in the field ministry with her spiritual brothers and sisters sharing Jehovah God's Good News of the Kingdom with others.
She loved and was loved, we will miss her and look forward to seeing her in the paradise.
Nora was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, March 10th 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2701 s. e. Croco Road, Topeka, Kansas 66605 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.JW.org.
