Neely Richard Murphy passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital on 6/6/2022 with his family at his side.
He was born to Byron and Betty McCaig Murphy on 2/3/1950 at Norfolk County, Virginia. He joined the Navy after graduating from Centralia High School.
He worked on roofing and construction before attending school for information technology. He worked for the Kansas Association of School Boards and later Landoll Corporation where he managed the AS 400. He retired from Landolls after 20 plus years.
He loved gardening, canning, dancing, watching the Royals and KU basketball games and spending time with family and friends.
He was married to Barbra Broxterman and they later divorced, from this union they had two children Jennifer and Joshua. He later married the love of his life Claudia Nott Murphy on 12/19/1992.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dee Cooper Allensworth (daughter), Steve Bradley (son-in-law) Mary Chrisman Nott and Clements Claudean Nott, (mother and father-in-law) and Edwina Nott Collins(sister-in-law).
He is survived by his wife Claudia Nott Murphy, Leonardville. His children Jennifer Murphy Bradley, Topeka, Joshua Murphy, Topeka. Mary Hards Winchell, Charlie Topeka, Stoney Hards Holton. Cherie Katz Sutterlin, Justin, Leonardville, Tina Katz Spurgeon, Bill. Marysville. Bill Allensworth, son-in-law, Topeka. Brothers Dave Rettele , Salina, Raymond Murphy , Marysville, Charles Murphy , Leonardville, Samual Murphy , Centralia, Gerald Murphy ,Cindy. Marysville.

A celebration of life for his Topeka friends and family will be held Sunday June 12, 2022, at Brass rail from 12 to 4.
A celebration of life will be held at the farm July 23rd, 2022, at 8915 Alert Road Leonardville, Kansas for all family and friends at 10 A.M. With a potluck lunch following. Lawn chair and beverage of your choice is suggested. Celebration of his life to end by 10 P.M. Please feel free to wear your favorite KU or Royals attire. The service will be provided by friend and Pastor Bob Wathor and music will be provided by longtime friend Rick Stanley.
