Morris E. Wold was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on May 28, 1944. He passed away February 25, 2017 at Baldwin Healthcare Center in Baldwin City, Kansas. He resided there after suffering from multiple strokes. Morris was formerly a resident of Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas.
Morris was one of 16 siblings. He graduated from Memorial High School, Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1962. Though he lived in several states throughout his life time, Eau Claire was always home. Morris proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966.
After overseas military service, he settled in Longview, Texas, and started a family. Employment re-located him to Overland Park, Kansas. After a career change, he worked for Santa Fe Railroad, in Kansas City and later Topeka. After 30 years, he retired from BNSF Railway.
In his retirement, Morris loved NASCAR, KU basketball and travelling in his RV, especially to family events in Wisconsin. He was active with the Lawrence VFW and the American Legion. He was outgoing, enjoyed socializing ("never met a stranger") and spending time with family and friends.
Morris is survived by his son, daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughters, brothers and a large extended family.
No services are planned. Interment will be at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
