Micheal O'Shea McDonald

Micheal “Mike/Mikey” O’Shea McDonald, age 67, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

He was born on November 24, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John “JC” McDonald and Dorris “Dody” Fines. He was a husband, father, papa, friend to many, and will always be remembered for his ornery sense of humor, hard work ethic, and signature style of sunglasses and a mustache.

Mike was a boilermaker and mechanic turned antique picker—passionate about working on cars, going to auctions, and getting an occasional scoop of cherry jubilee.

He is survived by his wife, Denise “Dee” McDonald; daughter Ashley (John) Burns; daughter Taylor (Joshua) Cowen; daughter Tarsha (Shawn) Rafferty; grandchildren Ellison Cowen, Atlee Cowen, Taylor Rafferty; brothers Patrick and Dennis McDonald; one nephew and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Robert McDonald.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
