Michael John Tschantz

Micheal John Tschantz, age 76, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on September 8th, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Topeka, Kansas, on December 3rd, 1949.

He worked many different jobs, but mainly as a talented guitar player and singer. He played with many bands, including Moe Blues, Straight Juice, and Justwynmoore. He also worked in dry cleaning plants, managing and pressing. Although, his love was definitely music. He also served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army Band.

He was known for his jokes and was an especially good storyteller. Also an artist, he was working on a comic book as well as paintings and drawings.

He married Donna Anderson on June 20th, 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Elma Tschantz, and his brother, Daniel Tschantz.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Hanna Tschantz and John Tschantz. Also survived by his siblings, Nan Crane, Colleen Smith, and Rick Tschantz.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at West Side Baptist Church, located at 1008 SW 4th St., Topeka, KS 66606.
