Michael Lynn Shelton
With many hearts grieving, yet finding comfort in the assurance of God’s promises, we share that Michael was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 11, 2025.
Michael was born on May 10, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, to Amos and Bessie Smith. She was one of seven children and was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Andy, and her sister, Raylene.
She is survived by her siblings Patsy Crow-Leon (Ralph), Ronald Smith (Anita), Jody Smith (Lorann), and Kevin Smith, her children: Mike Campbell (Kim), Dana Campbell (Curtis), Shaun Shelton-Bettencourt (Matt), Darla Campbell-Barrick (Billy), and Johnny Campbell (Laura); twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephew's.
On December 5, 1993, she married the love of her life, Sherman Shelton. Together, they raised five children.
Known affectionately as Michael, Mom, Aunt Mike, and Mammaw, she was funny, smart, giving, and a firm believer in Jesus. She prayed constantly for everyone she knew, and even for those she didn’t.
One of her most cherished traditions was singing her forever-favorite song to every niece, nephew, grandchild, and great-grandchild: “I Love You a Bushel and a Peck.” It is a memory that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to hear it.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and devotion to family. Though our hearts grieve her loss, we will forever cherish the memories and love she shared so freely.
