Michael L. Morris

Michael L. Morris (55), passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, after a long battle of metastatic melanoma. He was born in Emporia, KS on November 18th, 1968, to Virgil and Bonnie (Andrews) Morris.

He was apart of 4-H, FFA and Shooting Sports growing up. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1987. After graduation, he attended Flint Hills Vo-Tech and received his associates degree in welding and Butler Community College to receive his associate's degree in computer science. He married Aimee (Hodges) Morris on October 24th, 1992, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia, KS. They were blessed with two boys, Dagan and Hayden. He was employed by Hoyt's Truck Center in Emporia since 2021 as a shop manager.

He created a beautiful life together with Aimee and their two sons. He enjoyed entertaining people, cruising the country and was an avid Dairy Queen goer. He cherished spending time with his family and especially his grandson, Daxton, who was the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Aimee; two sons, Dagan (Jenna) and Hayden; grandson, Daxton; two brothers, Jim and Raymond.

He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Bonnie, and his stillborn sister Tamala.

Please join us for visitation from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and funeral at 4:00 pm, Friday, November 22nd at Messiah Lutheran Church 1101 Neosho St. Emporia, KS. Meal and celebration of life to follow the funeral at Fuller's shop, 1955 Road M, Emporia, KS.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mike Morris Medical Fund which will be transitioned into a memorial college fund for his grandkids.
