Melvin M. Cropper

Melvin M. Cropper (Mel), 83, passed away peacefully at Midland Hospice House, Topeka Kansas on October 18, 2014.

Mel was born to Marvin and Mary Cropper in Valley Falls, Kansas on August 7, 1931. He graduated from Valley Falls High School. He began his career as an electrician for Kaw Valley Electric as a lineman. He continued in this field and retired as a master electrician from Arizona State University Maintenance Division. As a young man he enjoyed bowling, fishing and many pheasant hunting trips in western Kansas.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melva and Bob Bottom; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Bob Grady and son James Cropper. His grandchildren are Tricia Burkhardt, Michele Moreno, Jennifer Brock, Aubrey Challquist, Jennifer Kelly, Jamie Studebaker, Greg Moreno, Jennifer Bierling, Christopher Cropper and Tanya Cropper. He also had 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Mel was cremated. We will say good-bye on October 23rd, 2014 at 10:00 am at Valley Falls Cemetery.
