Max M Guffy

April 18, 1931 — November 30, 2020

Max M Guffy passed away at his home on November 30, 2020, he was 89 years old.

Max was born to Roscoe Guffy and Artiemecia Williams on April 18, 1931 in their farming community of Granada, KS in Nemaha County. Max was child #11 of twelve in his family. His siblings are; Vivian, George, Mildred, Bernice, Doris, Gladys, Wesley, Marjorie, Donald "Keith", Boyd, and Ruth who all preceded him in death. The family remained close and gathered yearly.

Max joined the United States Air Force during the draft and was stationed in Florida. Upon discharge from the USAF, Max gained employment at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Topeka. Later Max joined the United States Postal Service from which he retired.

Max enjoyed the outdoors all his life. He grew up playing baseball for Wetmore High School. Max was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Max often told stories about his upbringing and experiences. He taught his children the same lessons he was taught about integrity.

Max raised four children that he adored. Teresa Rothlin of Bremerton, WA, Max D Guffy of Wilsonville, OR, Keith (Robin) Guffy of Topeka, KS and Susan Moody of Topeka, KS all survive their father. Max's grandchildren Danielle, Katherine, Christopher and Taylor have all had their own unique relationships with their Grandpa. Max also had three great grandchildren that he was very proud of, they are Ruben Cruz, Nola Eakes, and Ava Eakes all of Topeka.

Max's request was honored and there was no funeral service. A memorial will be erected at the Granada Cemetery at a later date.
