Maurice Albert Wright

Maurice Albert Wright (60) born December 20, 1954 at Reese Air Force base in Lubbock, Texas passed peacefully in his home December 4, 2015. Maurice was raised in Independence, and later Topeka, Kansas by his mother, Marguerite Anna Wright. He attended Berryton Grade School and Shawnee Heights High School. Maurice married Jeanne, February 20, 1982, and began building their lives and family in Topeka, Kansas later choosing to raise their children in Burlingame, Kansas. Maurice used his love of cars as a way to provide for his family. His varied work life included Larry's Salvage Yard, Topeka, Kansas; Autoland, Carbondale, KS; Santa Fe Trail Garage, Burlingame, KS; retiring from Sears Automotive and Tire Center, Topeka, KS. Upon his retirement his time was spent with his grandchildren, fishing, visiting with his friends, always fixing everyone's cars, or watching Westerns on the television.

Maurice was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Wright; mother in law, Ina Mae Cellar; brother, Henry Wright; and nephew, Joseph Wright. He is survived by wife, Jeanne; son, Jeremy; daughters, Jennifer and Anna; brothers, Lawrence, George, and Jack; grandsons and granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Osage City Cemetery after 10:00 am. Contribution can be made to the American Diabetes Association at donations.diabetes.org
