The son of the late Harold Emerson Slack and Andre'Helene Chapman, Wayne was the loving brother to Helen Slack Hamblin, Phyllis Slack Pepmiller, Violet Slack McEanney, Joan Slack Smith, Martha Slack, Jarold Slack, Darold Slack, James Slack, and Lance Slack, most of whom preceded him in death. His late wife, Claudine Williams, and their son Thomas Lynn Slack also rest in peace.

Wayne was the proud father to Maurice Wayne Slack Jr., Mark Brian Slack, and Harold Everett Slack and Thomas Lynn Slack. His legacy will continue to live on through his beloved grandchildren Kyra Bass, Jeni McKinney, Timothy Mcbee, Brittney Neitz, Savanna Rivera, Andrew Slack, Dillin Roberts, Trenton Brooks, Connor Brooks, Kyrsten Slack, Kelsey Brooks, and Mark Slack. Wayne was also blessed with an abundance of love from his 17 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

A dedicated student, Wayne earned an associate's degree and several course certificates throughout his life. His thirst for knowledge was evident in his varied career, which included roles as a Navy Veteran, an over-the-road truck driver, and other trades.

Wayne's interests were simple and brought him great joy. He was a master of Dominoes and Bingo, always ready for a friendly game and the chance to share a laugh. His love for these games was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He had a unique ability to make anyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to his gentle spirit.

Wayne's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He faced each day with an unwavering optimism that was infectious to those around him. His gentle nature and ability to see the good in every situation made him a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched.
