Mary D. "Choo Choo" Sanchez

Mary D. "Choo Choo" Sanchez, 83, 0f Topeka, KS passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, in Topeka.

She was born March 16, 1939, in Mills, New Mexico the daughter of Frutoso Jose and Resauda (Maestas) Sanchez.

Choo Choo is survived by three children, Albert (Michelle) Thomas of Independence, MO, Sam Hutton of Topeka, Taryn Thomas of Raytown, MO along with four step-children, Judie (Gabe) Walker, David (Gladys) Thomas, Janice (Fraz) Williams all of Aurora, CO and Jeff (Kelly) Thomas.  A sister, Tina Thomas of Commer City, CO and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frutoso and Resauda Sanchez, her husband, George Thomas, a brother Freddie Sanchez, and a sister Cecelia Thomas.

The family will announce a Celebration of Life Service to be held in Topeka at a later time.  Later this summer, Choo Choo will be taken home to Colorado to be with her husband, George.
