Mary Elizabeth Rossillon

January 28, 1945 — August 6, 2020

Mary Elizabeth Rossillon, a lifelong resident of the Burlington/Gridley, Kansas area died on August 6th, 2020 at Onaga Health and Rehab in Onaga, Kansas at the age of 75.

Mary was born on January 28, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas to Keith and Dorothea (Henton) Corwin. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1963 as the valedictorian of her class then went on to attend Kansas State University and Emporia State University.

On June 19, 1965, she married James Ernest Rossillon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington.  They made their home on the family farm southeast of Gridley and were blessed with 5 children.

Mary dedicated her life to raising her children and helping with the family farm. As the kids got older she was employed at Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant as a security officer and later transferred into the records department. Mary was gifted in the kitchen and her rolls and pies were favorites at all family gatherings.  She was also a talented gardener who enjoyed her flower gardens and always had a vase of fresh flowers on the table. It was known that she loved to attend auctions and collected antiques, glassware, and quilts. Mary spent many hours attending her children and grandchildren's activities and sporting events.  She was an active member of Harmony EHU and a member of the Catholic church.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by her children Patrick Rossillon of Wichita; Annette and Brian Marten, Corwin and Mara of Onaga; Eric Rossillon of Gridley, Justin and Jessica of Yates Center; Paul and Tami Rossillon, Collin, Caden, and Reece of Lawrence; Joseph and Tammy Rossillon, Taylor, Tessa, and Tori of LeRoy; and sister Marjorie and Richard Hayes of Rose Hill as well as many other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place and graveside services are planned for Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11 am at Wharton (Fairhope) Cemetery located on the family farm.  Family will gather after services at the Gridley Community building, friends are welcome.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made in Mary's memory to the Mary E. Rossillon Memorial to be designated at a later date.  These may be sent to:
