Mary Karen Jungmann 75, of Topeka, KS, passed away April 25th at Midland Hospice.
She was born Oct 15 1944 in Carbondale, KS to Eugene (Dutch) and Sally Jungmann.
She is survived by her daughter Larrie Smith, (husband Jon), Four grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth (Seth) Gianessi, Jacob and Justin.
2 great granddaughters Nora and Everly Gianessi.
Survived by brothers Bill, Kentucky and Roger, Oregon.
Preceded in death by parents Eugene and Sally, also her sister, Rita Kay (Smith).
Mary attended public schools in Carbondale, KS and was a member of Amateur Athletic Association in High School and had a passion for track.
She competed in the 1959 Pan American games in Chicago and competed against Wilma Rudolph.
She worked in healthcare at Colmery -O 'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka working with Vietnam Veterans which she found to be very rewarding.
Mary lived in Kansas, Washington, Oregon and South Carolina.
She loved to talk about her family, especially her Grand kids.
Mary was also an avid cat lover and active in the Trap Neuter Return program in Topeka.
