Mary Ellen Doyle

Mary Ellen Doyle of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2025. Mary was born July 5th, 1942, in Wamego, Kansas, and brought joy to everyone she came in contact with. She spent her working career at Security Benefit and Life Insurance, and after retiring, spent 15 years working part-time for Sodexo/Centerplate in their food service area at sporting venues around the country, making lasting friendships wherever she went.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and De McAninch, and sister, Susan Vegter. She is survived by her son, Mark McGinnis; sister, DeAnn Chilcote, and husband (Bro) Mike Chilcote; nephew, Doug Vegter; and nieces, Jennifer Steinhoff and Heather Raetz, and her very best friend, Sharon York.

Though she may be gone, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Mary. You will be deeply missed.
