Marta "Marty" Ann Frisbie

Marta “Marty” Ann Frisbie, 74, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on May 8th, 2026, following a long and courageous journey with dementia. Through every challenge, Marty’s resilient spirit and warmth continued to shine through, greatly impacting those around her.

Marty was born on the 25th of July 1951 to parents Cathryn “Kitty” Vivion and James “Jim” Bell in Topeka, KS. Marty lived in Topeka for a vast majority of her life. She attended Topeka West High School, graduating in the Class of 1969. Her daughter Jennifer and grandchildren Sydney and Brendan followed in her footsteps in becoming three generations of Chargers. She married her husband Bruce in June of 1981. In July of following year, she gave birth to her first son Jacob. Her son Zachary followed in September of 1984. Marty dedicated many years of her life to her career and retired from KNEA.

Marty’s life was defined by her deep passion for the people – and pets – she held dear. She was a woman who loved fiercely and completely. To know Marty was to know someone who placed her family, friends, and beloved dogs at the center of her universe.

Nothing brought Marty greater joy than the simple, beautiful moments spent with her family. She was happiest when the room was filled with laughter, and the re-telling of stories that brought everyone together. Her legacy lives on in the shared memories and unconditional love she poured into her family.

She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her devoted husband, Bruce who stood faithfully by her side until the very end; her sons, Jacob “Jake” (his wife Katie) and Zachary “Zack”; and her cherished grandchildren Sydney, Brendan, Sebastian, and Huxley. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Jennifer “Jenny” Haugh.
