Marjorie Jean Dickson

Marjorie Dickson, 82, of Carbondale, Kansas , passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2026.

Marjorie was born on March 9, 1944, in Wakarusa, Kansas, to Dwight and Doris (McMickell) Uhl. She married W. Austin Dickson, and together they raised three children.

She is survived by her children, Jean (Richard Lyda) White of Scranton, Kansas; Joanne Neu of Carbondale, Kansas; and Matthew Dickson of Scranton, Kansas.

Marjorie enjoyed many creative and hands-on activities throughout her life, especially quilting, oil painting, and ceramics. She retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after many years of service. In addition to her railroad career, Marjorie operated a lawn service for many years and also sold milk.

She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother and will be remembered by her family for the life and memories they shared together.

Marjorie is survived by her five grandchildren, Sally Mah, Nicole Dickson, Samantha Hoffman, Emily White, and Nathan White; and her nine great-grandchildren, Damon Mah, Madison Mah, Theodore Hoffman, William Livingston, Alexandria Livingston, Vivienne Pittman, Annastasia Pittman, Zoie Anderson, and Bentley Ellis.

A Celebration of Life for Marjorie will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.
