Marjorie E. Belveal, 84, Nortonville, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 9th, 2017.

Marjorie was born January 3, 1933, in Monrovia, Kansas, the daughter of Zelma (Jackson) and Charles B. Megenity.

Marjorie married Norman W. Belveal on June 6, 1949, in Marysville, Kansas. They later relocated to the Nortonville area.

Marjorie was a member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church, Nortonville. She was also a member of the Progressive Club and the Red Hat Society.

In 1967, Norm and Marjorie purchased the Mobil Gas Station located in Nortonville. Marjorie worked as manager and bookkeeper for the station. She was proficient at working the drive. After retiring from the station, Marjorie worked at the Nortonville Public Library as a part-time employee.

Survivors include; three sons – Norman L. (Butch) and Nancy of Nortonville, Wayne and Debbie of Valley Falls, Steve and Becky of Nortonville; seven grandchildren – Diane Nolting, Chuck, David, Jason, Eric, Jeff and Travis Belveal; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers – Francis Megenity and Norma of Barnes, Kansas, Bob Megenity of Atchison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie's husband and her family were her whole world, but her heart was big enough to adopt a host of others into her life. She was known as "Grandma" to many others in the surrounding communities.

Marjorie was proceded in death by her husband, Norman W; her parents, Zelma Fine and Harold Bechel ("Daddy" her step-father); a brother Paul LeRoy (Sonny) Megenity; and one granddaughter Dawn Belveal.

Visitation wil be held at the New Covenant United Methodist Church in Nortonville, Kansas at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2017, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.

Family and friends are welcome to gather in the Church basement following the service for refreshments.
