Marilyn Louise Johnson

Marilyn Louise Johnson 77 of Olpe Kansas passsed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Holiday Resort.

She was born on December 12, 1941 in Emporia Kansas. The daughter of Clement and Margaret Eaton.

Marilyn graduated from Roosevelt High School in Emporia Kansas.

Marilyn married Charles Laird on May 13, 1959. He passed away October 21, 1961. She then married Orlyn (Ken) Johnson on December 29, 1962 in K.C.Kansas.

they were married 56 years.

She is survived by Orlyn (Ken) Johnson of Olpe Kansas. Sons C. David (Janet) Laird of Emporia KS, James R. (Sandy) Laird of Allen KS, Ralph E. (Gail) Johnson of Olpe,KS.

Granchildren Travis (Jennifer) Laird of Cottonwood Falls, Terra Laird of Overland Park KS, Jacob (Allison) Brotbeck of Lawrence KS. Her brother Ken Eaton of South

San Francisco, CA. Sisters Jane (Richard) Slimon of Emporia, KS. Marilyn (Cecil) Howard of Silver City NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son.

She had worked at Peddler's Wagon and Newman Department Store in Emporia Kansas.

She enjoyed camping with family and friends and the Winfield Bluegrass festival. She also enjoyed listening to the music of her favorite Bluegrass band Special

Consensus of Chicago IL. Marilyn also enjoyed weaving rugs, placemats and other items to sell at area craft shows. She also liked researching family history

and being surrounded by her pets.

To honor Marilyn's request cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
