Marilyn Dudley of Topeka, Kansas died May 7, 2017. She was born to the late Wendell and Lorene Brown on September 7, 1949. Marilyn graduated from Coldwater High School in Comanche county, Kansas in 1967 and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas in 1971.Marilyn is survived by her husband Jerry whom she was married to for forty-five years. She was also survived by two children, Shannon Dudley and wife Shelly of Topeka and their daughters Harper Lorene and Maya Lynn, and Lindsay Dudley Rubio and husband Xavier of Quito, Ecuador. She is also survived by a sister Judith Bowman of Topeka.

Marilyn loved working as a registered nurse for forty-four years. She also loved to sew. She volunteered her time teaching sewing and judging at county 4-H fairs. She was a member of the American Sewing Guild. She was a member of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping with her children's ministries. She was a member of Overeaters Anonymous. She spent years working on her land in Topeka. She enjoyed growing flowers of all kinds. Her and her husband worked on developing a successful orchard and garden. She enjoyed processing the fruits and vegetables to be used all year long. She frequently entered her produce in fairs and won the sweepstakes award this past year at the Auburn fair for her salsa. She also enjoyed spending time on her Grandfathers' ranch in Coldwater, KS. She grew up there and always felt at peace when she could return and enjoy the land she grew up on.

A memorial celebration will be held on May 18th at 4:00pm at Susanna Wesley Methodist Church. Marilyn requested that people wear bright colors and feel comfortable in jeans for the memorial celebration.
