Marilyn Ward Chittenden

December 4, 1930 — February 17, 2016

Marilyn Ward Chittenden peacefully crossed into eternal life on February 17, 2016 at Stormont-Vail hospital following a brief illness. She joined her husband of 65 years, Bruce Chittenden, deceased on January 24, 2016, as well as her parents Byron and Helen Ward, and brother Robert Ward. Marilyn was born December 4, 1930. She was a proud graduate of Topeka High School, attended KU and earned a Master's Degree in Education from CSU.

She resided in Denver, CO and retired to Scottsdale, AZ before settling in Topeka, KS. She was a devoted mother, genealogy enthusiast and proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Marilyn is survived by her four daughters Cheryl Chittenden (Bill Schapley), Connie Swedlund (Harold), Barbara Lybarger and Cathleen Bascom (Tim), eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, brothers Jack Ward (Ethel) of Kaneohe, HI, Jim Ward (Susan) of New Haven, CT and a very supportive family of nephews and nieces.

A service of committal will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 1:00 PM at St. David's Episcopal Church at 17th and Gage. A celebratory reception of Marilyn's life will follow immediately at the church.
