Maurice Lowell Curry, 94, left this earth to join God and his beautiful wife Dororthy on June 5, 2022.
"If I can help somebody, as I travel along
If I can help somebody, with a word or song
If I can help somebody, from doing wrong
Then my living shall not be in vain."
These words, from a song he loved, are what he tried to live by. And in the eyes of his family and friends, he did a pretty fine job. He had as good a heart as anyone. Lowell never met a stanger. He loved many and was loved by many. He found happiness from his family, in singing and listening to music, tennis, being a good neighbor and learning about the life of anyone he met. We shall never forget his laugh. It brought joy to our hearts. He will be sorely missed.
Lowell grew up in Topeka Kansas. He was a WW2 veteran and met his wife Dorothy while working at the VA in Minot ND. They moved to Topeka where they raised 3 daughters. He managed the Design Forum Furniture Store for 15 years. Lowell later sold drapery fabric in the surrounding states, knew of every good cafe in every little town and befriended people from far and near. He retired in 1989 which gave time for many fun and interesting travels for he and Dorothy. He was very involved in Kiwanis, Church, as a part-time courier and spending time with friends and family.
We say goodbye for now with a cherished list of memories. Rest in peace, fun and loving Lowell.
