Lorna Diane Tillisch

October 24, 1941 — October 10, 2021

Lorna was born October 24, 1941 to Martin and Velma (Carson) Hinkel in Onawa, Iowa. She was the youngest of twelve children. She learned the value of hard work and love of family and friends at a young age, and those values defined who she was.

She passed away at home October 10th, 2021.

Lorna's career was spent in the housing department on Fort Riley, Kansas.  She often spoke fondly of the friends and memories made in the 20+ years she spent working there.  She retired as a housing manager in 2002.

She well known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and chicken and noodles and loved to cook for those she loved.  She was active in her church (Madura Church in Wakefield) and enjoyed watching all sports, but was an avid basketball fan.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents (Martin and Velma); brothers: Roy, Ival, Estal and Lynn and sisters: Margaret Nuzum, Lucille Hinkel, and Barbara Sorenson.

She is survived by her two children: Julie (Matt) Murray and Scott (Molly) Allen all of Wakefield.  Other survivors include four grandchildren whom she adored: Katlyn (Blaine) Tholstrup; Christian Fancher; Dalton Murray and McKinley Allen; Brothers: Bob and Dwight; Sisters Edna and Betty; numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friends.

You will be missed, until we meet again.
