Linda Marie Kelsey

November 17, 1949 — January 8, 2019

Linda Marie Kelsey died in her home on January 8, 2019 in Topeka, KS after a courageous battle with a long illness. She was 69.

Linda was born on November 17, 1949 in Florence, KS to Irwin and Pauline Creamer. She married Ron Kelsey in Emporia, KS on July 12, 1971. After starting a family in the Marion and Florence area, the Kelsey's moved to Hiawatha, KS where Linda worked as a Farm Service Administrator for the USDA. She retired in 2014 and dedicated her remaining time to family.

Linda taught Sunday school in the First Christian Church for several years and after retirement she served the students at Hiawatha Elementary School. In earlier years, she enjoyed fishing at the Marion Reservoir with her husband and was well known for her passion of bowling and participated in many leagues over the years.  Spending time with Ron and friends at the casino became a favorite pastime in her retired years.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Ron Kelsey of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and April Kelsey of Topeka, KS; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Chuck Jackson of Topeka, KS; her siblings, Larry Creamer, Jeanie Meirowsky, Jan Hall, Dorothy Parks and Don Creamer; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irwin and Pauline Creamer.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Marion Christian Church at 11:00 AM on January 12, with a reception to follow.  The family gratefully declines flowers, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted.  Donations in Linda's memory will be accepted to Great Lakes Hospice or the Marion Christian Church.
