Linda Rae Franklin

June 14, 1949 — December 7, 2025

Linda Rae Franklin, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully in Topeka, Kansas, on December 7, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on June 14, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Linda's life was characterized by her spirited nature and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Linda's life journey took her from the heartland of Iowa to the open arms of Topeka, where she touched the lives of many. Her professional path was marked by dedication and hard work, most notably as a general manager at Boyles Joyland and as a floor associate at Sage Brush. Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda's compassionate spirit shone brightly through her volunteer work at Help House, where she contributed countless hours to those in need.

As a devout Christian, Linda was an active member of her church, living her faith through service and example. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she was the matriarch who held the family together through thick and thin. Her love extended to the animal kingdom, where she shared an unspoken bond with all creatures great and small.

Linda was a fan of life's simple pleasures, cherishing moments spent watching her favorite daytime soaps and tuning into Dr. Phil for his words of wisdom. In her kitchen, magic happened as she cooked up love in every dish, sharing her culinary creations with family and friends. Linda's home was always filled with the aroma of something delicious, and her recipes will be cherished by her loved ones for generations to come.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories through her children Rodney J. Bostick, Melissa R. Tompkins, and her grandchildren Lacy Tompkins, Tracy Teetzel, Christopher Ortega, Bryan Bostick, David Franklin, and Zachary Tompkins. Linda was preceded in passing by her ex-husband Jimmie Dean Franklin Sr. Her in-laws Harley and Ruby Franklin, Jackie Franklin, Janie Schnegelsiepen, Tommy Franklin, and Emma Franklin. Plus, two of her beloved children Jimmie D. Franklin, Jr., and Karla A. Bostick, grandson Anthony Bostick, sister Pam Somerville and Her extended family. Her nephews Todd A. Franklin, Lance Franklin, and niece Tiaudra Franklin will remember her loving spirit.

In the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Linda embodied this sentiment, living her life by doing small acts with great love, and thereby, creating an immense impact on those around her.

Linda Rae Franklin was a loving, spirited, and generous soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of giving. As we bid farewell to Linda, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the extraordinary life she led. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the memories of her love and laughter will forever warm our hearts. Always remember in the words of Linda "I Love you More!!!"
