Linda Pauline Bartley

April 3, 1959 — November 4, 2021

Linda Pauline Bartley, age 62, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at her home.

Born April 3, 1959, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was the fourth of five children born to Charles and Hazel (Buckridge) Place. In the early 1960s, the family moved to Emporia, where she attended Emporia Public Schools.

On May 18, 1981, Linda married Keith Bartley, in Emporia. Their union was blessed with two wonderful daughters, Michelle and Angela. They settled south of Emporia and lived in the family home for their entire 40-year marriage.

During her career, Linda was employed by Dolly Madison and later elected to the Bakery & Confectionary Tobacco & Grains Millers Union local 218 as a business representative and served in that role until she retired in 2013.

After retirement, she spent most of her time with her grandkids, traveling, fishing with Keith and being outdoors. A lifelong horse lover, she loved running barrels and roping. After the girls were born, she hauled them to rodeos all over the nation and continued to help them with their horses.

Linda was a joyous and caring person, who was rarely seen without a smile. All who knew her would agree she was generous, hard-working, fun-loving and selfless; always putting others before herself and would do anything for her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda is survived by her husband, Keith Bartley, of the home; two daughters, Michelle Wilson and husband Cole, of Arvonia, Kansas, and Angela Bartley and Cody Todd, of Chouteau, Oklahoma; four beloved grandchildren, Hazelynn, Wayton, Colter and Hartley Jo; three sisters, one brother, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November, 11, at 2:00 PM at the Hollond's Shop at 1257 Road 137, Emporia, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle Creek Saddle Club in care of Citizens State Bank of Olpe, 202 Westphalia St., Olpe, KS 66865.
