Lawrence Raymond Umscheid

Lawrence (Larry) Raymond Umscheid was born November 28th, 1954. He left us September 22nd, 2020 but his spirit will forever be with us. Larry was born to Charles Edward Umscheid and Elizabeth Louise Aubert.

Larry grew up in Topeka, KS for most of his childhood, his family moved to Cucamonga, CA where he graduated from Alta Loma high school. After Graduating, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Travis AFB where he worked as an Air Cargo Specialist. He eventually moved back to Topeka, KS and lived in Leavenworth, KS for a period of time.

Larry loved leatherworking and was part of the leatherworker's group while he lived in Leavenworth. He liked spending time building model airplanes and displaying them. He had a knack for cooking, the spicier the better.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Umscheid; brother, Richard Umscheid; sister, Karen Ostrander; niece, Ashley Umscheid. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Sawyer; daughter, Jamie Umscheid; nephews and nieces, Jeff Narron, Karl Umscheid, Kevin Umscheid, Kara Morris, and Mandi Taylor.

Services will be at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
