Larry Dean Arb

Larry Dean Arb, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Osage City, Kansas, on January 28, 2024, at the age of 62.

Born on July 7, 1961, in Emporia, Kansas, to Lester and Dora Arb.

Larry's life was one of dedication, love, and joyful engagement with the world around him. He attended Lyndon High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and met his future wife, Kathy. After graduation, Larry began a fulfilling career as a foreman and crane operator, working diligently for companies like Dufer, King and Ebert Construction. His colleagues respected him for his reliability and leadership.

Larry married the love of his life, Kathy, and together they embarked on a journey of 41 years filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their devotion to each other was a testament to the power of partnership and mutual respect. Larry was a loving father to his daughter, Melinda Harwood, and a doting grandfather to his five grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

At the heart of Larry's life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy Arb, whose companionship and love provided him with immeasurable joy and support throughout their life together. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect that stood as a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another.  Also survived by Diana & Leo Klumpe, Debbie & Jim Miller, 2 nieces & 2 great nephews. Daughter Melinda Harwood and 5 grand children, Brian & Helen Deskins, Julie & Ken Harries & Matt & Cassy Deskins.

Prodeeded in death by parents Lester & Dora Arb.

Outside of work and family, Larry was an avid outdoorsman. His passions for hunting and fishing were more than hobbies—they were a means through which he connected with nature and found solace. Larry's community involvement was highlighted by his active role as an officer of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3890. His dedication to the organization's values of people helping people was evident in his actions and contributions. Through his work with the Eagles, Larry touched many lives, offering support and camaraderie to those around him. Those who knew Larry will remember him for his unwavering integrity, his generous spirit, and his infectious sense of humor. He had a talent for storytelling and could always be counted on to share a laugh or an encouraging word. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Larry Dean Arb, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will remain a beacon of warmth in the hearts of his family and friends. Larry's journey on earth may have ended, but his legacy endures, etched into the lives of those he touched. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Larry Dean Arb will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be treasured forever. Rest in peace, dear Larry, until we meet again.
