KRISTEN LYDIA PROCTOR EDMONSTON

Kristen Lydia Proctor Edmonston was called home to her Lord and Savior, Sunday, February 9, 2020, to retake her rightful place among the stars.

The story of the first child of Gerald and Anita Edwards Proctor, began January 3, 1967, a cold Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kristen's family soon included new little brother, Kevin John. And the family removed to Fredonia, Kansas, where her father entered the trucking business and her mother launched a forty-year career as a professional educator.

Kristen's father died, suddenly and unexpectedly.

Her mother's subsequent remarriage brought the family to Tulsa, where Kristen graduated from Monte Cassino school. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas; then, a nursing degree from Washburn University.

Kristen's education was completed at the University of Southern Indiana, where she earned an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner degree.

She was employed in the Topeka medical community all her working life. Much of her practice was with patients with critical needs, building relationships with physicians, peers and families.

Kristen was proceeded in death by her mother and father and immediate family members Frank Sewell (wife, Jane) of Topeka; and Susan Weidling of Prairie Village.

Family survivors include father, Ken Bagby of Fredonia; brother Kevin John Proctor (wife, Jodi; daughter, Montana) of Wagoner, OK; brother Kevin Ray Bagby, Tulsa; and Randy Bagby, Fredonia; also, sisters-in-law Jane Sewell and Nancy (Bob) Jones of Topeka. Extended family includes an awesome network of cousins, nieces, nephews scattered across Kansas, Missouriand the Midwest.

Kristen is married to her husband of sixteen years, Jim, of Topeka. He survives, along with the children Kristen loved so dearly: BJ (wife, Cristin; daughter, Aubrey Jane) of Manhattan, KS and Megan (daughters, Jasmyn and Jayla) of Topeka.

Jim remains at the family home with two smelly cats Eleanor ("Smalls") and Rudy.

Memorial services are Friday, February 21 at 11:00am at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW Eighth, Topeka, KS 66612.Contributions to the mid-America chapter of the ALS Association would be welcomed. www.alsa-midamerica.org
