Kim fought a long and hard battle against (ALS) Lou Gehrig's disease. She never gave up on hope, for a cure.
Kim graduated from the Oskaloosa School District in 1981, later receiving her bachelor's degree from Friends University. She worked mostly in the Healthcare field, from the Kansas Dept. of Children and Families to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Therapy Works, and Visiting Nurses (VNA) in Lawrence. She was also a volunteer firefighter and EMT for over 7 years with the Lecompton fire district.
Kim lived and fought for life to be surrounded by her Grandchildren, she loved being a Nana. Enjoyed watching the youngest, Ava Flick and Alice Flick grow, and attempting to spend all her time with them.
She was a loving and devoted mother who gave unconditional love and support to all of her children. She was the strongest person we know, who had the ability to overcome any challenges that came her way, as well as showing support for others through difficult times. Kim was known for her generous and kind spirit.
If you find yourself on a beach, she will likely be there with you in spirit. She will never be forgotten, and she would want us to continue to make memories, love one another, and live our lives to the fullest.
Celebration of Life, to be held at a later date. Donations can be made to; The ALS Association, 6405 Metcalf Ave. Ste.205 Overland Park, KS. 66202
