In Loving Memory
Kim Denise Madril
Kim Denise Rowley was born on October 26, 1963, in Fort Collins, Colorado and passed away on November 27, 2022, in Topeka, Kansas. Kim was the daughter of George and Carol Rowley. Kim joined her sister Roxanne; brother Mark; and brother Scott in the family home.
Kim was a sweet child who always loved animals, of which her family had a variety. Her Shetland pony, Cinder, was the cause of two broken elbows, one when she was 6 and the other when she was 8 years old. She raised a lamb for her 4-H project and was heartbroken when she had to sell her at the 4-H auction.
Her family had a camper which was used for camping and taking vacations. One time in Yellowstone National Park, Kim saw a herd of animals and said "Look, a moose!" Her parents told her, "That's an elk." She said, "Oh, a moose-elk!"
As a family, she always went to church. Her first time was when she was one week old. She was baptized at First Bible Baptist church during a revival meeting in 1972, along with the rest of the family.
In Junior High and High school, she participated in sports and just having a good time. Studying was not her favorite pastime, but she enjoyed her High School years.
Kim got her first job at Long John Silver's when she was sixteen and went on to work at Beavers Market and Target, where she met her future husband, Michael Madril, and later married in August 1983. She later worked for various school districts and clinical settings as an office and medical assistant in the Topeka, KS community. Her administrative skills were valued and appreciated by all organizations she served.
Kim was a fun-loving spirit and infused her infectious laughter to all she met. She never met a stranger, she welcomed all into her world. She loved cooking and blessed others with her gift. In her later years she enjoyed the sport of NASCAR racing with her husband, Mike, where she cheered on her favorite driver, Kyle Busch.
She is survived by her mother Carol, father George, husband, Michael Madril, her two children, Nicole Michele Tornow (Matt), Michael Bradley Madril (Ashley), three grandchildren, Keaton (16), Della (10), and Jasper (6) who knew her as Mimi. She's also survived by her sister, Roxanne (Todd), and two brothers, Mark (Sarah), and Scott (Deb) and many nieces and nephews.
