Kendrah Karen Swiercinsky

January 18, 1965 — October 30, 2014

Kendrah ("Kenni") Karen Swiercinsky, St. George, KS, passed away on October 30, 2014. Our bright, shining light left this world way too soon.

She was born in Topeka, KS on January 18, 1965 and was the beloved daughter of Kenneth and Karen Swiercinsky.

Kendrah grew up on the family farm near Maple Hill and Dover. She was a 1983 graduate of Mission Valley High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan. She had been a nursing instructor at Kaw Valley Technical School in Topeka. Kendrah was certified as an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support nurse, as well as a Certified Surgical Technologist and a Certified Surgical First Assistant through the National Board of Surgical Technology. She was a caring, compassionate, and highly skilled Registered Nurse who was loved by her patients and was requested by many doctors because of her medical knowledge and skills.

Kendrah lovingly cared for her mother throughout her battle with cancer, until Karen's passing this past June. She will always be remembered for her kindness, the fun and laughter she shared, her outgoing personality, and her love for animals.

Kendrah was "the glue" that helped keep her family strong. She treasured her time together with her family and friends, especially around the holidays. She enjoyed playing the piano, card games, and cooking. One of her favorite quotes when she was cooking was "everything is better with bacon and butter!" She also enjoyed reading Nicholas Sparks novels, listening to music, and watching "chick flicks" with family and friends and a big bucket of buttery movie popcorn.

Kendrah is survived by her father, Kenneth Swiercinsky, her brother, Kevin Swiercinsky, and her sister-in-law, Denise. She is also survived by her niece, Whitney and her daughter, Corah, and her nephew, Erik, his girl friend, Anna Avery, and their son, Liam, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Kendrah leaves behind her significant other, Doug Elliot, and the families of his three daughters, Bailey, Dana, and Alicia.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Swiercinsky.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka, KS.
