Kathy King

Kathy King, 63, entered the gates of Heaven in the early morning hours on Sept 5th, 2023. Kathy was surrounded by her closest loved ones and was well taken care of by the good doctors and nurses on the fifth floor of the KU Med Center Neurology department.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the fact that Kathy was baptized, saved, and at this moment is delighted to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was greeted at the gates by her mother, Beatrice King, her father, James King, and her brothers Tommy and Ricky King.

Kathy's smile and vibrant personality lit up the lives of everyone fortunate enough to meet her. Kathy was fiercely protective of her nieces and nephews; she was eager to help others and had a genuine servant's heart. She dedicated her life to family and always made sure we were supported in whatever we did. Kathy was an avid Chiefs fan; her favorite player was Patrick Mahomes. Kathy was very artistic and enjoyed making things with her hands. Kathy was an excellent cook.

She leaves behind two brothers; Jimmy and Vincent King, three sisters; Debbie King, Genevieve King, and Marie Landry; several nieces and nephews and Godchildren. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at Lake Shawnee on Saturday, September 9th at 2 p.m. Burial of her urn will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th and Gage Blvd., on Saturday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m.
