Kathryn “Kate” Lorraine Huettich

Kathryn "Kate" Lorraine Huettich, 55, of Topeka passed away Jan. 10th, 2015. She was born to Paul R. Smith and the late Patricia Smith, July 3rd, 1959. Kate graduated from Seaman High School in 1977 and received a BA in English Literature from the University of Kansas in 1992. She married Michael Huettich in 1997 and they lived together in Topeka for 17 years. Kate is survived by her loving husband, father, and four siblings: Steven Smith of Topeka; Polly Demonch of New Bern, NC; Phil Smith of Durham, NC; and Michelle Smith of Durham, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Kate devoted her life to the arts and local theatre. She often displayed her artwork in local galleries. Memorial services were held privately.
