KATHRYN LUCIA CARLSON: Born April 23, 1943 in Cleveland, OH; passed away peacefully on March 24, 2016 in Lawrence, KS.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Elom F. (Fred)Carlson. She leaves behind her family: Greg L. Simms (son), his wife Candi, and granddaughterLindsayof Lawrence, KS, Chris H. Simms (son), and his wife Maggie of Blue Springs, MO, Missy Hamilton (sister) of Lawrence, KS, The Carlson Family-Andy, Liz, and hergrandchildren(KC, MO), along with many dear friends.

Kathy was married to Phil N. Simms (Waterloo, IL) previously. Sheattended Lawrence Public Schools. After lots oftraveling with her opera singer Mother, she spent a long time living in the Kansas City area where she had several jobs helping those in need, and enjoying life, friends, traveling with Fred, and listening to "Freddie And The Doo-Wops" band, along with multiple trips to Winfield, KS.

Kathy was a friend too many, had an infectious Italiansmile, and was great at shopping, telling stories, cooking, and being aloving Mother, wife, and sister.

Kathy/Mom will be missed… always, and forever.

A small gathering will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery/LV, KS-where Kathy Carlson will be laid to rest with the love of her life Fred, on Thursday May 5, 2016 at 2:30pm.
