Kathlin Marie Olson

Kathlin Marie Olson passed away peacefully in her home on August 29th, 2024, surrounded by love and light. She has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 75 years old. Kathlin "Kathi" was born on January 18th, 1949, in Flandreau, South Dakota to Geraldine and Roy Bowen. Roy passed shortly after Kathi's birth, and she was later adopted by Albert Edward Otto. Kathi is predeceased by her mother Geraldine and fathers, Albert Edward Otto and Roy Bowen, daughter, Kimberly Jo Olson, and grandson, Dylan Albert Lee Olson, and her siblings, Charles Bowen (Darlene), Bernard Bowen, and Charlotte Snow.

Kathi graduated from Flandreau High School in 1967 and married Kenneth Lee Olson on October 16th, 1967. They had two daughters together: Melissa Marie and Kimberly Jo, raising both daughters in Americus, KS. Kathi worked for 35 years at Hopkins Manufacturing before retiring in 2014. Kathi spent the majority of the last 50+ years in the Americus community, known by "nana" to all, she had her doors open to many children generation after generation welcoming them to a popsicle, a warm hug, and a full-sized candy bar on Halloween.

Kathi (Nana) will always lovingly be remembered by her life companion, Daniel Phelan of Americus, KS, daughter, Melissa Rhoads (Daniel) of Manhattan, KS, Sisters, Joann Bowen & Vicki Phelan Lieberum, Granddaughters: Kateland Stone of Manhattan, KS, Marah Dice (Elly) of Emporia, KS, Paxton Stone of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Addysen Stupka (Tyler) of Manhattan, KS, and Gracie Stone of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and her great grandchildren: Teigh Lynn, Tracer, River, Sinclair, Callaway, and Porter, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and all those who called her "Nana".

A celebration of life will take place on October 5th, 2024, at 3pm at Harry & Lloyds in Americus, KS.
