Kathleen Worland Waddell

Kathleen (Kathy) Worland Waddell passed away at her home January 30, 2017, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Kathy was born Augusts 30, 1944, the daughter of Robert S. and Norma (Olsen) Worland.

She was a graduate of Hayden, Washburn, and Kansas University where she earned her Master's in Social Welfare. She devoted her life caring for others within her family and through her professional career as a LSCSW. As a social worker, she was employed by several local agencies and hospitals prior to establishing a private practice in psychotherapy in 1993.

Kathy married Don Anderson; they later divorced. She married James Waddell who preceded her in death in 2015. She was also proceeded in death by her father in 1998 and her brother, Robert E. Worland, in 2004.

Kathy is survived by her sons Jeffrey Anderson (Heather) and Matthew Anderson; her grandchildren Dylan Anderson and John Anderson; her mother; her siblings Dan Worland (Evie), Diane Goheen (Doug), and Debbie Worland Boos; and several cherished nephews and nieces.

A memorial celebration honoring Kathy will be Saturday, February 4, at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church at 1701 Collins. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Doorstep of Topeka.
