Karin Marta Norton

Karin Marta Norton, a long time resident of Topeka Kansas, died early Monday morning, August 5th, 2019, at Midland Hospice House of Topeka.  She gracefully and peacefully passed after an aggressive battle with Lung Cancer.   Karin was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Norton, who passed on September 22, 2011.

Karin Marta Norton was born Karin Marta Golz, on August 29th, 1940 in Stuttgart Germany to Erika and Erwin Golz. After completing High School, Karin went on to complete trade school to become a Hairdresser. She moved to the United States in 1961 and took up residence in Topeka Kansas, where she  continued her occupation as a hairdresser with passion and pride for over 50 years.  Many of Karin's customers followed her through the years to wherever her profession took her, because of her detailed, caring, and friendly report she established with each and every customer.

On December 14th, 1965,  Karin Golz married Donald D. Norton.  Karin and Donald shared the love of dancing, and participated in many events throughout the years enjoying this passion together.  Together they were two of the  organizers of the Topeka German American Club in 1982.  They loved dressing up in traditional German ware at the annual Oktoberfest and Fasching held by the GACT.  Additionally, they both enjoyed dressing up for costume parties, and in fact won many costume contests with their creative and festive costumes.  Karin was an amazing cook, and especially enjoyed cooking traditional German dishes from her birth country of Germany.

Karin was predeceased by her loving mother and father, Erika and Erwin Golz, as well as her husband, Donald Norton.  Karin will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Erika Bell of Phoenix, AZ, her granddaughter Devon Bell, of Phoenix AZ, her stepchildren, Vikki Royer and Scott Abbott, both of Topeka Kansas, her Aunt Hilde of Stuttgart Germany, as well as many friends and customers.  She will also be remembered by her family by marriage, Madelyn and Gayla (neices), and their children.

Karin's wishes were to be cremated with no formal service.
