Kandy Kay Kaufman Sims

Kandy Kay Kaufman Sims age 56 passed away on May 25, 2018 after losing her battle with cancer. Kandy was cremated, no services are planned.

Kandy was born October 1, 1961, in El Dorado, Kansas. She lived in Wichita, Kansas and graduated North High in 1979. Spent many years living in Jacksonville Florida with her three children, where she worked as a CNA and genuinely cared and loved her patients. She loved to crochet, watching football (Go Skins!!), going to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her mother Judy Kingry; father in law Lewis Sims and grandparents Vera Dupuy and Garland Wright; Marceen and Glen Kaufman.

Kandy is survived by her daughter Cassandra Ottenwalder and husband Gerald of Emporia, Kansas; daughter Carrie Sims of Twain Harte, California and son Joshua Kaufman of Jacksonville, Florida and 5 grandchildren Gabrielle Elyssa Miller, Damian Carter, Gage Kaufman all of Jacksonville, Florida and Julian Petty and Eric Schmidt of Twain Harte, California.

She is also survived by her father Dave Kaufman and wife Laura; sisters Kari Barnes, Kelly Melton, Kimberlie Kaufman; father of her children Daniel Sims, others include Janice Sims, Rusty Sims and Dorothy Henderson, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

But we remember now in love, your life from start to end, and we're just glad we knew you, as mother' and as friend.
