Judith Alice (Weeks) Mundy of Admire, Kansas passed away at age 70 on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas after a brief illness.
Judy was born December 11, 1945 in Wamego, Kansas. She is the daughter of Keith and Edith (Lynddane) Weeks. She graduated from Wamego High School in 1963, attended Emporia State University, and married Robert (Bob) Clifford Mundy on December 27, 1964. She and Bob raised two boys near Bob's parents in Admire, where the family owned and ran Mundy Service Station for many years.
Judy worked for USD 251 for almost 40 years as the treasurer and clerk, and was employed at Walmart Supercenter in Emporia, Kansas from 2000 to 2014. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, tatting, woodworking, the outdoors, family, and especially her two boys and three grandchildren. She was always ready to assist with whatever request came her way, and there was no such thing as 'too busy' when it came to her grandchildren. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family. Judy had a very loving, serene spirit and she will be greatly missed by all.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Edith Weeks; her infant brother, David Earl Weeks; and her elder sister, Loreen Weeks Kraushaar. She is survived by her husband, Bob Mundy of the home; her son Tony and wife Joanne of Yreka, California; her son Robert Mundy and wife Vikki of Garnett, Kansas; her three grandchildren: Rachel, Grant, and Olivia Mundy of Garnett, Kansas; and sister Nancy Weeks of Belvue, Kansas.
Judy's wish was to be cremated, with only a private family service held at a later date. At her request, no funeral will be held. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the organization of your choice.
