Juanita Eyman

November 5, 1923 — March 16, 2018

Juanita Pearl (Coen) Eyman, 94, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Autumn Home Plus and Great Lakes Caring Hospice in Topeka.

Juanita was born November 5, 1923, in Goodrich, Kansas, the daughter of Harley and Ellianor (Morrison) Coen.

Juanita was married to Arthur Lloyd Eyman for over 45 years before his death in 1988 from cancer. They had lived "North of the River" most of their married lives. Survivors include: daughter, Cherylea; son, Carlin (Patricia); sister, June (Gene) Vann. Other family includes four grandchildren, Connie Steakley, Carol Wright, Laura Delaney and Kenyon (Katie) Eyman; nine greatgrandchildren, Cami Duncan, Casi Martin and Cari Wright, Rebecca Blagg and Stephanie Steakley, Helene Delaney and Brianna Delaney, Aiden Eyman and Quinn Eyman; four great-great grandchildren, Alaya, Abigail Kriztian, and Alden; and nephew, Kim Vann. Many years after Arthur's passing, Juanita reacquainted with family friend, Vernon Dickeson, and he was her dear friend and companion until both of them suffered severe illnesses that sent them to different assisted living facilities.

In her earlier years, Juanita raised her family and helped Arthur with his service stations, the last of which was in North Topeka next to the old Post Office.

Juanita was a Life Member of the Women of the Moose #1091 (over 50 years), Life Member of the Helena Chapter of Eastern Star #210 (over 50 years) and Ladies Auxiliary VFW (48 years). She was also on the Board of Pappan's Landing for many years, as well as serving on Committees for the North Topeka Merchants Association for many years.

Juanita loved to fish, boat and camp. She and Arthur with many friends and family would meet at the surrounding Kansas lakes and reservoirs, resulting in many fish fries, good food, lots of laughter and good times. She also loved to crochet and knit. She and Dad were on the Moose bowling league for many years and they would attend and travel to many Moose Conventions all over the State of Kansas.

Our whole family would like to thank Autumn Home Plus for being Juanita's "Forever Home" for almost four years. She loved it there and became very close to the all of the staff. We would also like to thank Great Lakes Caring Hospice for her final care while at Autumn Home Plus. THANK YOU ALL for taking such good care of "Mother." You were her and our second family, and you treated her and us with such tenderness, dignity and grace.

We will have graveside services later on in the year when the weather is better and when many family and friends can attend. Inurnment will be at Rochester Cemetery right beside her loving husband, Arthur.

Memorial contributions may be made to Autumn Home Plus, 747 NW Walnut Lane, Topeka, Kansas 66617 and Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3715 SW 29th Street, Ste 100, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
