Joseph “Joey” Allen Mills

Joseph "Joey" Allen Mills, 31, of Edwardsville, Kansas, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas. Born on January 21, 1994, in Kansas City, Joey was a 2012 graduate of Bonner Springs High School and a dedicated employee of the Wyandotte County Unified Government.

Joey was a loving husband, father, son, and friend whose presence brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maryssa Mills; his cherished children, daughter Charlie Mills and son Brandon Mills; his devoted parents, James and Karen Mills; and his grandparents, Bruce and Virginia Mills.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Brandon Mills and Chad Mills; his grandparents Claude and Kathryn Graybill; and his uncle Steven Graybill.

Joey had a passion for classic cars and spent many joyful hours working on his grandpa's 1929 Model "A" truck. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. Known for his contagious laughter and heart of gold, Joey was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Cremation has taken place.  The details abouts a celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
